Creating Magic

I don't believe Harry Potter would have become a great wizard without the friendship, mentorship, and aid of other great wizards. Dumbledore, Hermione, Snape, Lupin, etc. He'd have piddled along by himself, maybe becoming good, but not great. Bear with me.

Two rebellious, imaginative, rambunctious, and creative writers were placed in a writing  group together. Placed, not asked, just added on the whim of the administrator. The group was supposed to be a place where people were free to be themselves, no worries about harassment or judgement. Laughter flowed, friendships were formed, and everything was peachy. Yet the two aforementioned writers weren't happy with the group. The administrators were absent and negligent, and the feelings of others weren't often considered. Insults and smarminess abounded, and these two writers begged to be made administrators in order to make the group a happy place. Their pleas fell on deaf ears, and they decided to form their own group, where consideration and laughter could go hand in hand. Amy Hunter and Marlon Hayes invited a few like minded writers to this new group, and The Scribes' Circle was born.

Funny thing happened though. Amidst giggles, jokes, and shenanigans, a realization occurred; these Scribes were a bunch of very talented and divergent writers. Members began to share stories and ideas with each other, not knowing where this would all lead to. Marlon and Amy bounced ideas off of each other, leading to a coffeetable book titled Perceptions of Beauty. The subject of erotica came up, and many of the Scribes came forward with brilliant and original stories, leading the Scribes to start piecing together an anthology titled Unbound. One day in the next few months, their first group collaboration will be published.

As new Scribes were suggested for the group, it became necessary to give a quiz to each proposed member. You can't simply add someone to the Scribes, they must be voted on first by the group, then queried to see if they're interested, and finally, they must take a quiz to become a Scribe.

Creative people bring out hidden creativity in others. One Scribe will have an idea, with no idea how to implement it, but other Scribes pick up the idea and bring it to fruition. Bookcovers, websites, blogs, have all been created by members of the Scribes. Yeah, we're really talented in a myriad of ways, and together, we're creating all sorts of things.

A whispered idea between Scribes becomes a blueprint, which becomes a tangible thing. You know what this process is called? You know what The Scribes' Circle is creating? Yup, you guessed it. Magic...
